Dr. Tomeka W. McGhee is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Alabama, a national certified counselor (NCC), and a global career development facilitator (GCDF). Dr. McGhee has taught both traditional and online undergraduate courses in psychology and career since 2010 as well as graduate courses in counselor education since 2011. Clinically, she has worked with adults and children in the areas of severe and chronic mental illness, depression, anxiety, life transition, spirituality, relationship issues, and trauma since 2008 and conducted clinical assessments/evaluations for other mental health and social service agencies in private practice since 2013. Outside her clinical and educational work, she has served the Alabama Counseling Association in various capacities since 2006 and is currently serving as its President. She has been the president of the Alabama division of Counselor Educators and Supervisors in Counseling with an interest in the integration of religion and spirituality into counselor education, counseling practice, and supervision. Further, her interests include gatekeeping, cultural humility, diversity and inclusion.
