Dr. Tara Revell resides, works, and plays, in the beautiful deserts of Arizona. Dr. Revell came from the corporate world (oil industry) into academics eighteen years ago and she could never imagine going back. Earning her Ph.D. from Arizona State University in Educational Psychology with a research emphasis in Behavioral Genetics, she has gone on to complete post-doctoral training at the Institute for Behavioral Genetics, University of Colorado, Belfast University, in Ireland and King’s College, Aberdeen University in Scotland. Dr. Revell’s research interests include examining heritability coefficients of specific human behaviors, focusing mainly on anxiety disorders in twins. She instructs with a physiological emphasis and her classroom mantra is, Everything psychological is biological in origin.
Being a life-long learner, Dr. Revell has recently completed her MBA with an emphasis in Marketing and Consumer Behavior. Her business experience began with an artistic and customized furniture company targeted at a specific market segmentation, which was successfully and profitably acquired by foreign entrepreneurs. This ignited her passion for business, marketing and specifically, consulting. Using her psychology research background, Dr. Revell soon identified another market trend aimed at additional marketing segmentations. This led to the development of two successful consulting agencies and a specialty foods distribution company. All of which she is CEO, owner, and co-owner. Dr. Revell has presented both nationally and internationally in the fields of behavioral genetics, consulting, and the role of women in business in the 21st century.
