Dr. Hollingsworth is a practicing nationally certified Physician Assistant in rural southeastern North Carolina. He has been working in Family Medicine for the past 30 years and is a PA and Nurse Practitioner Educator. His medical education began while serving in the United States Army as a Special Forces Medical Specialist. He received his Physician Assistant training at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC where he attended the Surgeon Assistant program in 1979. He earned his Masters in Science in 2005 at the Arizona School of Health Sciences, A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona, and his Doctor of Health Sciences from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 2008. He has been teaching in the online environment for over ten years and has been with Walden for seven years.
He was on the Professional Practice Commission on the American Academy of Physician Assistants and served as a Corresponding Item Writer for the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants
Dr. Hollingsworth is very interested in the online teaching environment and is dedicated to the success of his students.
