Dr Rachel Dilts serves as the Academic Coordinator of School Counseling/FT CORE Faculty at Walden University. Previously she was the Director of School Counseling at a private, non profit University in the NorthWest. She has taught in the areas of Psychology, Graduate School and Community Counseling and worked with the supervision of counseling trainees. In her administration role she has supervised faculty and aligned program standards to state and national requirements.
Before moving into full time work in higher education Dr. Dilts worked in mental health counseling, school and career counseling and in settings from outpatient to residential, with diverse clients including work on a Native American Reservation.
Dr Dilts has presented on the supervision of counselor trainees, and a variety of topics including personality assessments, career counseling, and alternative therapies. In addition, she received a publication award, has conducted international research, and authored or co-authored topics in alternative therapies, children with special needs and behavioral effects of media. She recently co-authored a book on Gender issues. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor.
