Patricia Nan Anderson holds a doctorate in Educational Psychology. Her dissertation in 1998 established cost as a factor in the expectancy-value model of achievement motivation. From 1995 to 2008 she held a place in the Early Childhood Education faculty of National-Louis University in Chicago, ending as tenured Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate and Graduate Teacher Education Programs in Early Childhood. She has taught online starting in 1999. Dr. Anderson joined the faculty at Walden University in 2008. After moving to Seattle in 2005, Dr. Anderson focused on the role of parents in early development, realizing this is largely ignored in the traditional Early Childhood academic programs. She wrote the books, Parenting: A Field Guide and Developmentally Appropriate Parenting, and Everyday Equity. Dr. Anderson serves as a speaker, trainer and consultant to community organizations and social service agencies that work with teachers and parents of young children.
