Dr. Jay Maningo-Salinas has over 25 years of nursing experience in clinical and leadership roles in various health care settings. She has a clinical background in hematology, oncology, solid organ and bone marrow transplant and surgery. She is currently a Nurse Administrator at Mayo Clinic in Arizona where she provides leadership oversight over the nursing functions in the Hematology/Oncology and Infusion Service line. In this role, she has 24/7/365 oversight of nursing and allied health functions of more than 300 staff members. She is accountable at the strategic level for planning, developing new services, policy formation, human resource management and organization, financial performance, patient care services operations, senior medical and management staff relations.
Jay started her professional nursing journey with an Associate in Nursing Degree from the College of Lake County. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alverno College, a Master of Science in Nursing from Benedictine University, a Master of Science in Health and Human Services Administration from Spertus College and a Doctor of Philosophy in Health and Human Services Administration from Capella University.
An active participant in professional organizations, she has served in several committees, elected and appointed leadership positions in the local and national level. She is the Past President of the Philippine Nurses Association of Arizona and is the Immediate Past-President of the Arizona Organization of Nurse Leaders. Her committee involvement includes serving on the Arizona Cancer Coalition and assisting in the development of the state’s cancer control efforts. She has also been an active committee member for American Organization of Nurse Leaders and has served on the Fellow Designation Committee, Education Committee and the Conference Planning Committee. Within Mayo Clinic, Jay has been a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee, the People and Culture Subcommittee and serves as the Diversity Leader for the Department of Nursing and representing more than 1,400 nurses in the Arizona campus.
Dr. Jay is recognized as a Nurse Executive Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (NE-BC), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and has achieved the recognition as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
