Dr. Hengen has experience in the areas of family practice, urgent care, geriatrics, palliative care, and leadership. She is passionate about improving geriatric care and long-term care reform. Dr. Hengen has be instrumental in the development, implementation, and management of various programs, projects, and interventions, specifically those that seek to improve geriatric care or improve knowledge.
Dr. Hengen has spent the majority of her nursing career in leadership with extensive experience in facilitating formal and informal education. She is committed to supporting, nurturing, mentoring, and educating others. Her goal is to promote the advancement of nursing through the empowerment of nurses. It is her honor and pleasure to support the students at Walden University.
Dr. Hengen enjoys travel. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family. She hopes to open her own clinical practice soon.
