Dr. Robare’s research interests in community health, epidemiology, maternal and child health stem from his education and training background. He holds a DrPH in Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh, a MS in Nutrition from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a BS in Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts, and a Registered Dietitians License through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. His previous research at the University of Pittsburgh used mixed methodologies such as case study and survey research to assess the health of older adults focusing on nutrition and chronic disease prevention. Dr. Robare served as a Social Science Research Analyst/Project Officer for the United States Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service, Office of Policy Support from 2008-2015. Presently Dr. Robare is an Associate Professor and MPH Program Director at Slippery Rock University. He joined Walden’s faculty in 2010. He serves on dissertation committees and is university research reviewer. His research interests include nutrition and chronic disease prevention (i.e. community health), maternal and child health, and evaluation of federal nutrition assistance programs.
