Dr James Glenn grew up in Washington DC, and attended American University where he obtained a BSBA in Finance with a minor in marketing. He has thirty years broad based experience in business development, brokerage, banking, commercial lending/underwriting, credit analysis, management, public relations, relationship selling, valuation and investment consulting and most recently, teaching, chairing dissertation committeed since 2006, and mentoring dissertation students He has developed over the years exceptional researching, and writing abilities, and superior spreadsheet and computer skills.
Dr. Glenn spent the bulk of his career as an investment adviser and then as a commercial lender in banking. In the late 90s he decided he wanted to transition into academia and went back to school for my MBA and Doctorate. He has taught as a full time business professor and as an adjunct for over 10 schools in the DC metropolitan area at the doctoral, graduate and undergraduate level, in both face to face formats, and online.
His education includes a Doctorate in Finance, from Nova Southeastern University, Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.. which he completed, in September 2006. His dissertation topic was: “The Determinants of Premiums Paid In M&As In The Banking Industry”.
He received his M.B.A.{Finance & Marketing}, from Palm Beach Atlantic University, Kolgod School of Business, in West Palm Beach, Fl. In 1999, (Cum Laude). He received his B.S.B.A. from American University {Finance & Economics}, in Washington, D.C. in 1979. Published Articles include:
International Atlantic Economic Association: The Determinants of Premiums Paid In M&As In The Banking Industry and the American Statistical Association: Why Are Premiums Paid In M&As? and lastly, International Advances In Economic Research: “Determinants of Premiums To Book Value Paid In Banking Mergers.” He also occasionally contribute financial and economic articles to various web sites and has a book being published titles Wealth Inequality in America.
He also belongs to Sigma Beta Delta National Honor Society (2005).
At Walden University Dr. Glenn mentors DBA students in through their dissertation their, and teaches Entrepreneurial Finance. His is a subject matter expert in finance, economics, accounting, management, and research. His primary areas of research interest is in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&As), and Wealth Inequality. .
