In 2015, Dr. Irene Williams joined the College of Management and Technology staff as a contributing faculty member in the DBA program. Her professional experience includes over ten years working in offices of institutional effectiveness, research, assessment, and planning in higher education. She served as the primary system administrator for a faculty credentials system and as the associate administrator for the institution’s assessment management database to document student-learning outcomes. Her greatest accomplishment was serving as the lead technical advisor in the development of the electronic reaffirmation of accreditation report for the institution. She was also responsible for updating various institutional web sites using a content management system. She gained advanced skills in updating policies and procedures, data management, analysis, and reporting. She has experience using systems such as SharePoint, SPSS, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
Dr. Williams briefly worked in the private sector for a medical device manufacturing company as a Quality Assurance Manager. In this role, she developed skills related to business best practices, human resources, customer service, quality assurance, and manufacturing regulations. Her passion has always been in business administration, management, and leadership type positions. Teaching and mentoring DBA students will allow her to take what she has learned in business and share it with them. Her experience in higher education has driven her to serve as a faculty member in hopes of learning from students and staying abreast common business practices.
Her academic achievements include the completion of a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University. Prior to her advanced education, she earned a Master of Business Administration from Wayland Baptist University and a Bachelor of Business Administration, Computer Information Systems from Lubbock Christian University.
Her contribution to positive social change is to address challenges and improve conditions in businesses, particularly in workforce and workplace issues. She has previously been a member in local and national organizations related to human resources, quality, training and development, and project management. She enjoys teaching students about advancing society as a whole and leading social change in their own communities.
