Dr. Heather Ambrose brings a wealth of higher education experience to Walden University having served as Chair of Counseling Programs at Argosy University – Salt Lake City, the Director of Clinical Experience for the Masters of Education in Counseling and Human Development Program at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky, and as a staff clinician for Counseling Services at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. She has an expertise in training clinical supervisors in addition to providing supervision for counselors-in-training and counselors seeking licensure. She currently volunteers at a youth drop-in center for LGBTQ teens where she provides positive support and mental health education to the attendees. She is also the Past President of the Rocky Mountain Region of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision and the current President of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, a division of the American Counseling Association.
