Dr. Giselle Balfour is a graduate from the University of Georgia's School of Social Work. This native of Trinidad and Tobago began her Social Work career in the United States as Social Services Supervisor at the Department of Family and Children Services in Georgia and has since gained many years experience as a practitioner working with children who have experienced severe trauma such as physical abuse, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. Dr. Balfour has also done extensive research on child sexual abuse, sexual exploitation as well as human trafficking. This Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) Doctoral Scholar currently works full time for the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy and is also a Contributing Faculty member in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences here at Walden University.
