Dr. Brittany Peters works with the College of Social and Behavioral Science at Walden University in the role of Contributing Faculty.
Dr. Peters is new to teaching in the university setting however Dr. Peters has over 5 years of teaching at conferences. Additionally, Dr. Peters a private practice which focuses on developing continuing education courses and providing supervision for those pursing licensure. Dr. Peters has worked in the field of Social Work for over 11 years serving many roles ranging from domestic violence advocate to dependency drug court counselor. Currently, Dr. Peters works full-time as the Assistant Clinical Director for an Integrated Behavioral Health & child Welfare agency in Clearwater, Florida.
Dr. Peters is considered an expert in substance use disorders and focuses primarily on treatment for individuals who are court-involved (i.e. dependency cases, criminal cases). Dr. Peter’s research interests include Family Drug treatment Courts, substance Use Disorders, and evidenced-based interventions for this population.
