In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Vince Edwards Deguzman joined the Navy in July 1997 as a Seaman Recruit. As Enlisted, he served as a Hospital Corpsman, Pharmacy Technician, and Field Medical Service Technician with the U.S. Marines. He was commissioned as a Lieutenant after receiving his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. As an Officer, he served as a Department Head, Director of Clinical Support Services, and Command Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He has been serving as an adjunct instructor since 2016, and has been serving the students of Laureate Education Inc., since June 2017.
An advocate of lifelong learning, Vince became board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and Geriatric pharmacy (CGP), certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). He completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Healthcare Administration, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree, and Graduate certificates in Human Systems Integration and Healthcare Administration. Recently, he completed his Master’s degree in Human Systems Integration from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Master's in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. His subject matter expertise is in strategy development, quality improvement, leadership, and healthcare administration.
Vince received the Navy Medicine’s Junior Pharmacist of the Year award, Early Career Healthcare Executive award from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Navy Medicine’s Senior Pharmacist of the Year award, Pharmacy Times’ Military Pharmacist of the Year award, Admiral Charles Loar Literary Award from ACHE, and AMSUS Allied Health Professional Award.
His personal medals while in service include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy Achievement Medal (3 awards), Afghanistan Campagin Medal, and numerous unit and campaign awards.
