What is integrative health?

Integrative health is an approach to health and wellness that focuses on the whole person while grounding care in evidence-based practices. It emphasizes how physical health, mental and emotional well-being, behavior, and lifestyle factors work together to support long-term wellness. Integrative health professionals focus on prevention, health education, and empowering individuals to make informed, sustainable health decisions. 

How long does it take to complete this degree program?

Walden’s BS in Integrative Health is a degree-completion program designed for students who already hold an associate degree. Time to completion varies based on transfer credits accepted, course load, and individual circumstances, but many students should be  able to complete their bachelor’s degree faster than starting from the beginning. 

What can you do with a degree in holistic/integrative health?

Graduates may pursue roles in health and wellness-related settings such as community organizations, corporate wellness programs, fitness and recreation environments, and healthcare-adjacent organizations. Career paths may include wellness coordinator, health and wellness coach, recreation specialist, or health education-related roles. Students who choose the Health and Wellness Coaching concentration are also prepared to pursue the National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) credential.
