Dr. Twonya Collins is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of professional experience in mental health practice and more than a decade of experience providing outpatient therapy and clinical supervision. Her areas of teaching include advanced clinical social work practice, trauma-informed care, mental health diagnostics, and social work practice with individuals, families, and communities. As an adjunct faculty member at Walden University, Dr. Collins supports graduate-level social work education by facilitating coursework, guiding student discussions, and mentoring emerging social workers in developing strong clinical and ethical practice skills.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Collins has experience in higher education, where she has designed and delivered coursework that prepares students for real-world social work practice. She has also contributed to program development, staff training, and supervision in behavioral health settings. Her scholarly work includes co-authoring a peer-reviewed publication focused on trauma-informed practices for military-connected populations. Dr. Collins remains committed to advancing the field of social work through education, mentorship, and the integration of evidence-based practices that promote resilience and healing across diverse communities.
