Dr. Travis Lewis is a Contributing Faculty member within the Doctor of Education (EdD) program for the Richard W. Riley College of Education and Human Sciences at Walden University. Dr. Lewis has over 25 years of experience in student services and educational leadership, having served as a school counselor and senior administrator in both K-12 and higher education. Dr. Lewis received his EdD in K-12 Educational Leadership from East Carolina University. He also holds two Master's degrees, one in School Administration from East Carolina University and one in Counselor Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Lewis has chaired numerous dissertations, secured over $16 million in grant funding throughout his career, and published extensively on topics such as trauma-informed leadership, school and district leadership practices to enhance beginning teacher retention, and school mental health. In his teaching, Dr. Lewis is committed to developing scholar-practitioners who are effective at leading improvement efforts across educational settings and contexts.
