In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Tiffany R. Pressley received her DNP in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice at the University of South Alabama in July 2017. She currently practices as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner in Belleville, IL and has served in this role since September 2017. Dr. Pressley began as a part-time faculty member at Walden in the School of Nursing in January 2019. She teaches clinical skills in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice. Professionally, Dr. Pressley has worked as a medical-surgical registered nurse, clinical staff leader and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She currently holds APRN licenses in Minnesota (6289) and South Carolina (225314) and RN licenses in Minnesota (2468005), South Carolina (20944), and Wyoming (36983).
