Stephanie Francis received her PhD in Social Work at the University of North Caolina at Chapel Hill in May 2008. She currently serves as the Director of Practicum Education for the School of Social Work at NC State University and has served in this role since November 2019. Dr. Francis began as a part-time faculty member at NC State in 2013, teaching Foundation Social Work Practice with Organizations and Communities and Advanced Policy Practice with Organizations and Communities, before becoming the full-time MSW Field Coordinator in September 2017. She currently teaches Practicum Seminar. Previous teaching experience also includes The Treatment of Violence and Trauma at UNC-CH. Professionally, Dr. Francis worked for almost 20 years with victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Her research addressed the use of Family Group Conferencing in cases of domestic violence and the co-occurrence of domestic violence and child maltreatment in families. Dr. Francis also holds a Master of Social Work and a Master of Science in Recreation Administration, specializing in Therapeutic Recreation.
