Stefanie Barnette
Dr. Stefanie Barnette, DSW serves as the Director of Program Operations for Habitat for Humanity of York County, leading the homeowner services, volunteers, grants, community outreach, and construction departments. Dr. Barnette has been with the affiliate for nine years. Dr. Barnette holds a doctorate in social work from Tulane University along with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work from Winthrop University with advanced studies in gerontology, focusing on the bio, psycho, social, cultural, and spiritual well-being of older adults. Stefanie is also a certified financial social worker and has developed financial literacy programs to meet the needs of families in York County. Stefanie has worked extensively in asset-based community development, program evaluation, grant writing and monitoring, event planning, environmental design, and affordable housing management. In addition to her work with Habitat, Stefanie is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, the National Low Income Housing Coalition, and the SC Black nonprofit leaders network.
