Shelly A. Fischer received her PhD in Nursing/Systems and Quality Outcomes from the University of Colorado in May 2014. She has taught at the undergraduate and graduate nursing levels since August 2013 and has maintained an active practice in acute and long-term care nursing. Dr. Fischer’s program of research addresses leadership influence on patient safety, and her work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed nursing journals. She presents her research findings nationally and internationally. Dr. Fischer holds multi-state RN licensure, Advanced Practice RN licensure in the state of Colorado, a fellowship in the American College of Healthcare Executives, as well as certification as a Nurse Educator and Nurse Executive, Advanced. Dr. Fischer is a certified trainer with the Institute of HeartMath for individual and team resilience training and has been affiliated with Walden University since the fall of 2020.
