Dr. Munford is a tenured Full Professor at East Stroudsburg University where he's worked for the past 18 years in the College of Health Sciences. He has an array of campus-wide responsibilities including serving on a number of university-wide committees, heading university diversity initiatives, and a full teaching load; teaching a variety of courses within the College. Prior to entering higher education, Dr. Munford played professional basketball in Belgium, and briefly worked in Allentown, PA as the director of outpatient therapy and rehabilitation for a musculoskeletal rehabilitation treatment facility. Dr. Munford received his B.S. in Biology from Bloomsburg University, and his M.S. in Exercise Physiology from East Stroudsburg University while working as a full-time graduate assistant with the University's Institutional Review Board (IRB), and was the statewide runner-up for the Pennsylvania Association of Graduate Schools Outstanding Graduate Student Award based on academic merit and graduate research. He was awarded his Ph.D. in Public Health, concentrating in Community Health Promotion & Education from Walden University! Dr. Munford was the 2017-18 ESyoU Employee of the year, recognizing his commitment to higher education and student success. His primary area of research interests include: physical activity/exercise, obesity, health disparities, and college health.
