Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Dr. Ryan Kimball serves as Adjunct Faculty in Walden University's Doctor of Nursing Practice program. He brings more than a decade of experience in primary care practice and healthcare leadership.
Dr. Kimball's teaching and scholarly interests focus on advanced nursing practice, healthcare systems leadership, population health, quality improvement, value-based care, and workforce development. His research has examined strategies to support novice nurse practitioners through structured preceptor development and professional transition programs.
In addition to his faculty role, Dr. Kimball has held progressive leadership positions in healthcare administration, including oversight of population health initiatives, ambulatory quality programs, and primary care operations. His professional expertise includes clinical quality improvement, value-based care delivery, and interdisciplinary leadership.
Dr. Kimball earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Yale University, a Master of Business Administration from The Citadel Graduate College, and Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing from Michigan State University. His scholarly work includes research on nurse practitioner retention and preceptor development, and he has been recognized for excellence in advanced practice nursing through the Advanced Practice Clinician of the Year award. He is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
