Dr. Rilla Hynes has a multidisciplinary background that spans the arts, business, and academia. She holds degrees in Music, Military History, and Organizational Leadership and Management. Since 1980, Dr. Hynes has taught across multiple academic levels and programs, serving as a Department Chair, Content Expert in History, entrepreneur, and Project Center Manager. She currently serves as Contributing Faculty in the Doctor of Business Administration program.
Her primary research interests include leadership, innovation, and organizational development, with publications and applied research in these areas. Dr. Hynes’s professional experience includes managing large retail operations, founding an arts-based business, and leading initiatives in higher education. She has developed and implemented innovative programs designed to support student success and persistence, including designing orientations for adult students to build resilience and ensure a positive student experience. Her philosophy of 'meeting the student where they are' is a reflection of her enduring commitment to mentorship, learning, and organizational excellence.
