In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Bragg spent 37 years in a high school classroom teaching honors and gifted English grades 9-12. He also served as the department chair 21 years. He has been teaching at the post-secondary level since 2004.
He graduated from St. Francis University with degrees in Journalism and Secondary English Education. His graduate degree came from the University of Alabama in the content area of Public Health. His Ed.S. was earned at Lincoln Memorial University with a focus in Curriculum and Instruction. His Ed.D. was obtained through Argosy University also in the area of C and I.
Since joining the faculty at Walden, Dr. Bragg serves students in the education program as a dissertation mentor, chair, and committee member.
Dr. Bragg has several areas of interest including curriculum development and assessment. He also has extensive experience and expertise in curriculum theory, gifted learners, and differentiation.
In 2007, he served on a state committee in Georgia during the development of a state certification test specific to the needs of ELA educators in that state. He also chaired and served on countless committees associated with textbook adoption and curriculum development. He also chaired a school system committee to assist with the transition to the Common Core Standards.
Dr. Bragg is a long-time member with the National Council for Teachers of English, the Retired Teachers Association in Cherokee County GA, the International Reading Association, and the Indiana State Teachers Association.
