Dr. Hug is a counselor educator and licensed professional clinical counselor with supervisory designation (Ohio). She served for nearly a decade as a community organizer and cultural competence coach before transitioning into counselor education. Dr. Hug prioritizes the integration of student professional identity development with skills mastery. She supports student exploration through her areas of expertise including systemic and generational trauma, parenting and couples work, and family-based intervention. Dr. Hug has served in myriad settings including private practice, agency, school, in-patient hospitalization, and out-patient adventure therapy. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilizes this approach in her solo private practice.
