Quanza E. Mooring earned her PhD in Education with a focus in nursing education from Capella University in December of 2014, after completing her dissertation entitled: Aggressive Academic Advising Practices: Improving Nursing Student Persistence. An Emergency Room nurse who has been involved in nursing education since 2010, Dr. Mooring has taught in both didactic and online formats, in the classroom, laboratory and clinical settings, and facilitated various courses including: Nursing Fundamentals, Nursing Research, Nursing Leadership, Nursing Informatics, and Advanced Health Assessment at other colleges and universities. Dr. Mooring continues her research efforts, focusing on nursing student retention and effecting change through integrated curriculum changes, holistic admissions, and student-centered education. Dr. Mooring also continues her practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care. She is passionate about care of underserved populations and works to provide quality care to all patients.
