Portia Thomas
Portia Thomas received her doctorate in nursing science at Kennesaw State University in December 2018. She currently serves as a Contributing Faculty for Public Health Nursing Specialization at Walden University and has done so since March 2021. As a certified nurse educator, she has previously taught courses at the undergraduate and graduate nursing levels in research, leadership, and population health. Dr. Thomas’ nursing career spans fifteen years in various settings including acute care, clinical research, epidemiology, and public health. Her current program of research centers on HIV prevention and disparities in racial and sexual minorities.
