Dr. Pam Scharping has over 30 years of experience working in the field of applied behavior analysis. Dr. Scharping completed her undergraduate degree in psychology and human development and family life at the University of Kansas and earned a master's degree in educational psychology from Wichita State University. She also completed the BACB-verified course sequence through the University of Massachusetts and became a BCBA in 2012. Dr. Scharping completed her doctoral degree in psychology with a specialization in applied behavior analysis through Capella University.
Dr. Scharping has spent most of her career supporting students with autism and other complex needs in both private residential settings and public schools. Her work background includes working as a state trainer and consultant in schools, an administrator at a residential school, and a staff trainer and behavior analyst in both clinical and residential settings. Dr. Scharping has been teaching at a higher education level since 2025. Her passion is disseminating the principles of behavior analysis to educators and building capacity in the implementation of evidence-based practices (EBP) with fidelity. She believes that when teachers build efficacy in their ability to implement EBPs, positive student outcomes are the result.
Dr. Scharping is not all work and no play. She is married and has three adult children, two beautiful granddaughters who are the light of her life, and one on the way. She also enjoys family time above all, traveling with family around the world, laughing and being silly with friends, church activities, and walking her dog while listening to audiobooks.
