Dr. Olivia C. Gachomo, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNPC, is a board-certified Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive clinical experience across outpatient mental health, long-term care, primary care, and telemedicine settings. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Post masters Certification in Psychiatric–Mental Health Nursing from the University of South Alabama and her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University.

At Walden University, Dr. Gachomo serves as didactic and clinical faculty in the Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. In this role, she supports the development of advanced practice nurses through evidence-based instruction, rigorous academic standards, and mentorship that emphasizes clinical excellence, ethical practice, and patient centered mental health care.

Clinically, Dr. Gachomo practices as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Central Texas Veterans Health Care, providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaborative care for veteran populations across the lifespan. She also previously delivered psychiatric services within long-term care settings where her work focuses on complex mental health needs among older adults and medically vulnerable Residents.

Her broader professional background includes roles in geriatric care, neurological and behavioral health, intensive outpatient programs, and family practice, offering a holistic and integrative approach to mental health and wellness. Dr. Gachomo is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Texas Nurse Practitioner Association, and Austin Advanced Practice Nurses.
