In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Nirvana Kos, Ed.D., BCBA, LBA
is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Licensed Behavior Analyst, and a Doctor specializing in Transitional Leadership and concentrating on special education training, telesupervision, and behavior management.
Dr. Nirvana Kos started her professional career in the 2000s with a passion for developmental psychology and behavior analysis in academic and clinical settings at Florida International University, Miami. Upon receiving her Master’s degree in science, she became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and worked extensively in the larger Miami metro area. In 2015 she decided to extend her professional reach to transformational leadership and acquire a Doctorate degree in Education at Northcentral University, California.
In clinical and academic settings Dr. Kos worked in various pilot programs under the leadership of renowned Behavior Analyst Dr. Jack Gewirtz. In her early years she gained experience with various field-based settings in client behavior management and private and public engagements through Miami Children’s Hospital, Miami-Dade Court Services as an expert witness, and collaborated with Miami-Dade Public School System. Most of her 26-year experience comes from handling high intensity behavioral management cases in the client’s natural settings involving children, teenagers, and young adults.
A devoted wife and mother, Dr. Kos currently lives in Oregon where she is the owner and director of an education setting specializing in remote supervision, training, and lectures. Dr. Kos enjoys teaching, managing, and supervising various students, BCABAs and trainees while promoting and disseminating behavior-analytic strategies throughout the world. Special focus and interests are telesupervision, online and remote supervision, and teacher and student training. At Walden University dr. Kos teaches classes focusing on Applied Behavior Analysis and upholds Walden's teaching excellence and integrity with students and staff.
