Dr. Bell brings nearly 30 years of experience in the field of education. She currently serves as a contributing faculty member in the Doctor of Education Department at Walden. Dr. Bell comes from humble beginnings as a first-generation Latina Indigenous college graduate, elementary school teacher, public school principal at the elementary and secondary levels, executive director of education, retired assistant superintendent of K12 schools, Dissertation Chair for Educational Programs, and department area chair for the educational programs at a large online university. Passion areas of research include topics of diversity, equity, inclusion, and enhancing the educational experiences of students from historically marginalized communities. Recent awards include John Sperling Distinguished Faculty of the Year (2024, 2025), Inclusive Leader: Transparency in Practice (2024), and Inclusive Leader: Social and Emotional Wellbeing (2023).
