Dr. Meredith Mates has been in the field of ABA for nearly two decades. She has been engaged in teaching in higher education for almost a decade and has experience directing higher education ABA programs. In her teaching experience, she has primarily taught ethics courses in an ABA Masters Program, but has taught across all the content areas throughout her years in higher education and clinical experience. Upon earning her Bachelors degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from The Ohio State University in 2007, Dr. Mates started working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. After working in the field of ABA in Northwest Ohio for several years, she moved to West Lafayette, Indiana to work in an ABA clinic, gain more experience, and earn her masters in ABA from Ball State University. A BCaBA in 2012 and BCBA in 2013, Dr. Mates has been a staff training coordinator, clinical director, is now active in school and clinical consulting, and has been an innovative contributor to the ongoing success of large higher education ABA Programs. Dr. Mates is currently an Associate Professor for the ABA program at Walden University. She earned her Doctor of Education in Performance Improvement Leadership in 2023 from Capella University, with her research focusing on school administrators implementing PBIS with teachers to improve culture and morale.
