Dr. Missy Wheeler earned her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Master's degree in Counselor Education from East Carolina University. She earned her doctoral degree in Counseling and Counselor Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her experience in the counseling profession spans over twenty years and includes career development, student success in college settings, and counselor education.
Dr. Wheeler is active in the counseling community where she currently serves as the Treasurer of the National Career Development Association (NCDA). She is also a past President of the Virginia Career Development Association (VCDA) and the Connecticut Association of Counselor Education and Supervision (CACES).

At Walden, Dr. Wheeler serves as an adjunct faculty member. She brings her experiences into the classroom through practical examples and case studies to help connect course concepts to the work of counseling.
