Melissa Rasberry

Richard W. Riley College of Education and Human Sciences
Doctor of Education (EdD)

Melissa A. Rasberry, Ed.D., has spent the last 25+ years transforming organizations through strategic planning, relationship-building, and leadership development across K-16 classrooms and nonprofit environments. Most recently, she has served as the Program Director for the Impact Academy, a year-long leadership training fellowship for deans of teacher preparation programs. From her professional start as an elementary teacher through her role as an adjunct assistant professor, Dr. Rasberry has consistently championed the voices and ideas of the marginalized and disenfranchised. Her professional interests span the development continuum—from mentoring junior staff to expanding leadership of senior professionals. She holds a doctorate of educational leadership and currently coaches and/or chairs EdD students through their dissertation process. When Dr. Rasberry isn’t working diligently to build new leaders, she is an avid contributor to her community. Whether supporting her beloved Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated or her local church, she believes firmly in the Zulu concept of ubuntu: “I am because we are.”
