Dr. Melanie J. Wilhelm is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is also certified as a pediatric primary care mental health specialist. She is dual board certified through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). Dr. Wilhelm is licensed in both Virginia and Minnesota as a Registered Nurse and a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She carries a license to prescribe and DEA # through the state of Virginia. She is a contributing faculty member with Walden University as of February 2021. She serves Walden as Core faculty within the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at Walden University. Dr. Wilhelm was honored as the Exceptional Professional in the fall 2017 Hampton Roads Physician Magazine. Her doctoral thesis on Pediatric Obesity related to Nutrition Counseling was published in the Infant, Child, and Adolescent Nutrition Journal in October 2012. She has founded Raising Today’s Child, LLC as a mission to help families raise healthy, happy children. Her book, Raising Today’s Baby, second edition, released on Amazon in 2018.
