Ph.D. Nursing

I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a PhD in Nursing and also obtained a Masters of Nursing Science, Certificate in Public Health, and a Certified Therapeutic Touch teacher and practitioner. My approach to educating nursing students and community members is a community-based participatory and holistic approach. The students, community members, and educator work collaboratively to solve health problems in a participatory and holistic manner. Also, I have a certificate as a practitioner and teacher in Therapeutic Touch (TT), developed in the early 1970s by Dolores Krieger, PhD, RN and Dora Kunz. I have used TT to help individuals manage anxiety, PTSD, pain, and transition to death.
