Dr. Folkes is a counselor educator, a licensed professional counselor (TX), and a licensed mental health counselor (FL). With 10 years of counseling experience and 4 years in counselor education, he specializes in working with adolescents and young adults facing adjustment and traumatic stress. His research interests include creative interventions in psychotherapy, historical and generational trauma, and the use of technology and gaming in education. He has presented at numerous conferences and contributed to scholarly publications. At Walden, he is a contributing faculty member and supports counseling students as they navigate clinical counseling.
