Dr. Williams’ background includes over 25 years of nursing experience. She earned her DNP from the University of South Alabama with a subspecialty of Nurse Education & Palliative Care and a Master Degree in nursing with an area of concentration, Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. She earned a Post-Master Certificate with an area of concentration in Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Williams is board certified by the ANCC as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Medical-Surgical Name. Dr. Williams has advanced practice nursing leadership experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner & Mental Health Chief Element Leader. She is also a former board member of the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI).
During her doctoral studies, she received a scholarship for her Capstone Nursing Project titled: Assessing Physical Health in Patients with Mental Illness by Secondary Care Services.
