Laura K. Harrawood received her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 2004. Dr. Harrawood began as a contributing faculty member at Walden in the School of Counseling in April of 2025. She has taught across the counseling curriculum. Dr. Harrawood has held several faculty positions at both ground and online programs. Her counseling experience includes mental health agencies, private practice, and college campus counseling centers. She has published and presented in the areas of group work, ethics, innovative teaching methods, the training of couple and family counselors, substance abuse and death education. She currently serves on the editorial review board for The Family Journal: Counseling and Therapy for Couples and Family and is a long-time member of the American Counseling Association, several of its divisions, and various state associations.
