In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Laneita Davis received her Doctoral of Nursing Practice in 2014 from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. She currently serves as a Clinical Nursing Instructor at Walden University and has served in this position since May 2017. Dr. Davis is a family nurse practitioner and has been since 2010. Dr. Davis currently holds a license in the states of Tennessee and Mississippi. She is employed full-time with United Healthcare where she performs house-calls visits. Dr. Davis has experience in school health, retail health, and primary care. As an FNP, Dr. Davis's ultimate goal is to provide individuals and their families with knowledge, health promotion, and disease prevention to help maintain an optimal life. She is dedicated to helping people to live healthier lives.
