Dr. Noël has over 15 years clinical mental health experience as a school social worker, medical social worker, and a direct practice mental health practitioner. Dr. Noël’s research for the past 7 years has been focused on culturally competent practice in a number of professional settings including developing culturally competent interventions and age appropriate school-based curriculums designed for real-world implementation within ethnically diverse environments. These projects while still in there developmental stages have early support for their efficacy and effectiveness with these populations in reducing mental and behavioral health risk and improving school performance outcomes. Dr. Noel has more recently began exploring the impacts of trauma and Retraumatization has on academic outcomes among early learners.
