Krysten Blackshear

Krysten P. Blackshear earned her Doctor of Social Work degree at Capella University in 2023, as well as her Clinical Social Work license in 2021. Dr. Krysten is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Texas, Alabama, and Michigan. She currently serves as the Director of Behavioral Health at Avenue 360 Health and Wellness and as an Associate Professor and Part-Time Instructor at other universities. Dr. Blackshear began her career at Walden University in November 2025, teaching Basic Skills in Social Work Practice. Dr. Krysten has experience in curriculum development, macro social work, clinical social work, and medical social work, including hospice. Dr. Krysten’s interests include preparing the next generation of social workers to practice compassionately and with cultural humility.
