Dr. Krystal Finch is a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) graduate from Walden University. She has more than 16 years of Clinical Social Work Practice experience in adolescent mental health, children and family interventions, and substance use. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an Assistant Professor in Connecticut. Dr. Finch is dedicated to working with diverse populations, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities, which has provided her with a greater understanding of the effects of mental health illness among marginalized communities. She is passionate in her efforts as an advocate for social change and focuses on experiences of Black Faculty in Higher Education, empathy and compassion in clinical practice, and expanding student interest in the Substance Use field. Dr. Finch also strives to inspire students to push beyond adversities, overcome barriers, use individual strengths, and empower students to initiate change throughout the social work field. A true calling of Dr. Finch is mentorship.

Dr. Finch plans to integrate her professional and educational interests to enhance the techniques, skills, and knowledge of mental health professionals in clinical practice and education.
