Kimberly Budig received her PhD in Social Work with a concentration in Administration at Walden University in February 2024. She currently serves as an Adjunct Faculty member in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Walden University. She joined Walden University in 2025 and will be teaching social work and social sciences courses. Dr. Budig holds independent licensure with supervision designations in Ohio (LISW-S, I.0800046-SUPV, effective February 19, 2008) and in Kentucky (LCSW-S, 3227, effective June 19, 2008). Professionally, Dr. Budig has worked in direct and indirect practice settings within child welfare, mental and behavioral health, treatment foster care, accountable care organizations, and medical social work. Dr. Budig has several research interests in the areas of foster care, kinship care, trauma, parenting stress, resilience, and childhood abuse and neglect. She has a variety of publications and presentations from research projects.
