Kevin Curtin

Kevin A. Curtin received his PhD in Counseling from George Washington University in 2008. He is an Adjunct Faculty in the School of Counseling at Walden University with over 15 years of graduate level teaching experience at other universities. His teaching interests include Ethical and Professional Foundations, Family Therapy, and Group Counseling. Dr. Curtin is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in both Vermont and New York and has over thirty years of experience in private practice, inpatient psychiatry, therapeutic special education programs, and wilderness counseling. His training and experience encompass a variety of approaches including EMDR, motivational interviewing, group psychotherapy, family systems theory, DBT, and Disaster Mental Health. Dr. Curtin has several publications and presentations on different topics such as resiliency and exceptional youth, work-based learning, spiritual wellness and suicide prevention, therapeutic lifestyle behaviors, and multi-family therapy groups.
