Courses
In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.
Disclaimers: Walden students have up to 8 years to complete their doctoral program unless they petition for an extension.
In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Students must also publish their dissertation on ProQuest before their degree is conferred. Learn more about the dissertation process in the Dissertation Guidebook.

Hello everyone.I am Dr. Keon M. Gregory. I am a Mississippi native and resident.
I began my career in health care in 2003 as a surgical technologist. After some time in that role, I decided to advance my career by going to nursing school. I finished my associate degree in nursing in 2009 at MS Delta Community College and became an operating room nurse. I completed my Bachelor in Health Sciences degree at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2012 and later completed my BSN in 2015, also at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. I completed my MSN/FNP in 2017 at the University of Memphis. I then completed my DNP at Vanderbilt University in 2021. My DNP project focused on perioperative pressure injuries. I most recently completed a legal nurse consult course.
During my tenure in the operating room, I worked in many different arenas ranging from level 1, 2, and 3 trauma centers as well as traveled to many different parts of the country as a travel nurse. I have Blessed to meet many people who have made a positive impact on my life.
I currently work as an FNP in wound care and psychiatrics. I have a real passion for both. I have also taught on the undergraduate level. Walden University offers nurses the opportunity to advance their career and become leaders of our craft, and I am proud to be a part of this reputable institution of learning.
