Charlie Ritter

College of Allied Health

Charlie Ritter is a doctoral candidate in Mind–Body Medicine with a specialization in Mindfulness Applications and is a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). She serves as an instructor in the BS Integrative Health program at Walden University. Her teaching focuses on health education and behavior, with an emphasis on fostering reflective, engaged learning in online environments. She brings 14 years of professional experience in wellness, behavioral health coaching, and integrative health into her work with students, along with five years of experience supporting graduate-level education as a teaching assistant, including two years as a co-instructor.
At Walden, Charlie facilitates asynchronous online coursework, supports student learning, and cultivates a collaborative and supportive virtual classroom environment. Her teaching approach emphasizes depth of understanding, critical thinking, and meaningful application of course concepts.
Her primary research interests explore the lived experience of everyday forgiveness among advanced meditators, with a focus on cognitive, emotional, and embodied processes. Her broader areas of subject matter expertise include mindfulness, behavior change, and integrative approaches to health and well-being.
Professionally, Charlie has worked extensively in behavioral health coaching within integrated healthcare settings, supporting patients in making sustainable lifestyle changes related to mental and physical health. She also has over a decade of experience as a plant-based chef and wellness practitioner, specializing in Ayurvedic, macrobiotic, and whole-food nutrition, and has supported and co-facilitated wellness retreats focused on holistic health.
Her major accomplishments include contributing to integrative coaching approaches within collaborative care models, supporting wellness retreat facilitation, and advancing research on mindfulness and forgiveness as part of her doctoral work.
