Dr. Keiko Sano was born and raised in Japan, and she worked in Japan, Hong Kong, and Australia before moving to the United States in 2011. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Approved Supervisor in Washington State. She primarily works with expatriates, immigrants, military/veteran populations, as well as their families. She is a certified EMDR therapist and ADHD Certified Clinical Service Provider and offers supervision and consultations. Dr. Sano has taught most of the CACREP Core courses, including Internship Supervision courses. She particularly enjoys teaching skills-based courses. Her research interests are multicultural and international aspects in the field of counseling, and she focuses on the diversity of counselors, supervisors, and counselor educators.
