In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Katrina Cudal is a family nurse practitioner in Illinois. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines. She completed her Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at The University of Alabama. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurse Credentialing Center.
During her nursing years, she provided direct patient care and served as a mentor for new nurses. She started her nursing practice in 2001 and has been practicing as a nurse practitioner since 2016. She has a diverse clinical background ranging from primary care, urgent care, women’s health, acute care rehab, subacute care, long-term care, and nephrology. The combination of extensive clinical and medical skills has prepared her to provide compassionate, quality, individualized patient care.
Dr. Cudal taught family nurse practitioner students at a local university from 2019-2020 and has been teaching nursing students since 2022. She is a contributing faculty at Walden University and will teach nurse practitioner students enrolled in the family nurse practitioner track.
